I recall the first memories of what seemed like a dreaded conversation - the day my cycle came on. I remember looking at the diagram and on the next page, a similar diagram with the male anatomy. At that moment, I was told that I didn’t need to see that.
Now, though as an adult I fully understand my mother’s logic and perhaps fear even - nevertheless it reenforved that idea that sex was bad and that knowing my body was equally bad.
It wasn’t until later I myself learned my body and other necessary things I should have learned as a young lady.
Now that I have daughters and have many other nonbiological daughters - the subject of sex is one that I’ve become adamant about reaching. This book is different as it doesn’t necessarily stand on any religious principle rather it simply serves as a guide for mothers and daughters to have “the talk” in a much more relaxed way. Included are inserts from my daughters and more!
