Tessica Scott has one goal when she makes it to her senior year: to get as far away from the projects, and especially her mother, as she possibly can. Her hard-knock life and a particularly harrowing turn of events leaves her broken and discouraged; only with the support of her besties, Nina and Aimee; their boyfriends, Dedrick and Taye; and the love of her life, Gabriel, can she manage to escape her mother’s grasp. She’s now on a fast-track to greatness; to continue on that path, however, requires healing from the past, and that includes some revelations and some secrets uncovered…
"Far From Home" E-book
Far From Home is the seemingly disconnected branch to this family tree. But…there’s more than meets the eye…
"Manna, Mirror, Mosaics" by Toni Chevelle
This debut compilation is a life-long collection of thoughts, dreams, experiences, and wishes. Begun in the sophomore year of high school, some 30+ years ago, these pieces of prose and poetry delve into the mind of Toni Chevelle. Some witty, some deep, some challenging, some thought-provoking, some spiritual, and even some corny, the poems contained here give you a glimpse of the woman and her life.
Til' Death: Lessons from Life, Love, & "I Do"
On December 21, 1989, recording artist Miki Howard’s smash hit single “Love Under New Management” was released (coincidentally, the same day my awesome Mom passed away from cancer). This song has always been a favorite of mine, particularly because of it’s first line: ‘Experience is a good teacher…’This phrase is more than just lyrics from a Billboard #2 R&B single; it is a fact of life. The best and longest lasting lessons are those learned from actual experience, from the first-hand hands-on involvement in a situation or circumstance. And so it has been with my life. As painful and as stressful and as disheartening as many of my life experiences have been, those have been the times that have not only made me stronger, but have taught me so much about life and about myself…Especially when it comes to love and relationships, particularly marriage. Each involvement left me with just a little more knowledge and awareness of self and what I need and want. By the time I finished my 13-year ‘tour-of-duty’ as a wife, I had earned a Master’s degree in Self-Love & Personal Necessities. I had also come to a startling realization about myself…“Til Death: Lessons From Life, Love, & I DO” is the cathartic catalog of my life experience as it relates to love and relationships, and the sometimes enigmatic roller coaster known as marriage. It is my hope and prayer that what is shared will help current and future wives find their best selves and be the wives that the Most High intended them to be. “I Am Fighting For My Healing, And I Ain’t Gonna Fight Fair.”

Reader Reviews "I wholeheartedly believe that when you have a talent, all it takes is a bit of hard work to get it seen. It's amazing that these poems throughout the years of Ms. Chevelle's life have seemed to age gracefully and still, somehow, are conveyed as a piece of literature to so new. Be ready to feel different types of emotions as Ms. Toni Chevelle has the ability to capture you in each word she writes!" - Zoe Dee "I hate I took so long to place my first order. I'm all up in this Kindle, reading your poetic works of art. I must say, you titled this collection perfectly!" - Margaret Blair |
