g tea
What inspired you to pursue a serious commitment at your business/art?
I began to get serious about herbal tea, when my neighbor purchased a case of 12 mason jars in 2015, and passed it out to everyone in our small community. One of the men came to me, explaining his past discloations and ailments, and how just a few sips of tea, got him to moving around in a way he hadn't in a while. At the time, I only knew about 3 herbs. I began to receive requests for teas and for conditons that prompted me to continue researching and creating. Once I knew I could actually help someone, I wanted to help everyone!
How many years have you been in business/in your industry?
G Tea has been in business for almost a decade! We posted our very first tea and sold it November 2015.
How do you wish to serve others through your business/art?
Our entire existence as a company is about service. Outside of offering herbal products from head to toe for care, we share and study information on food, excercize, mental health, and body systems. We live to embody what we inform others about. We serve, by making sure all of our blends and products are of quality, and will do what they say.
Artist/Stage/Pen Name
I have often been called, "Tea Lady, Juice Lady" when it comes to our herbal tea business. If there are people who knew me before, they may know my artist/poet name: Queen UGenius.

What advice would you give to someone who is starting out, just as you were?
The best advice I can give for anyone starting a business is, learn all that you can about self managing books or hiring help. Continue to study and be in the know when it comes to the industry of your product. Make sure you have to offer what you say you do. Experience will be your best teacher. Just be open to learning.
How did you develop the name of your company?
G Tea, Genius Tonic Tea got it's name as a spin off of my poetry name, Queen UGenius, and our not for profit community group, UGenius Inc. My dad was a man who believed I was a "genius", when I didn't have that belief in myself. I would meet people for the 1st time and they would say "I hear you're a genius!" I would blush. I made good grades and graduated top 25% of my class, but I didn't know about being a genius. My company and brands are built on honoring the man who saw the best and most in me, even when I didn't see it myself. To study anything and master it makes you a genius. I strive to always be innovative with whatever I have to offer. Most times it's not "intentional" it's just who I am, and I always hear, "I never knew anyone who thinks or moves like you!"
